Educate Girls
We are grateful to say that our past card sales have allowed us to enroll nine orphaned girls in secondary schools. Each of them has between two and four years before they will graduate. Our hope is to keep them in school and add even more street children that are waiting for sponsors. You can help by purchasing our greeting cards or by making donations of any amount. Each semester’s cost averages $100 per girl ($300 per year). Every dollar donated is sent directly to El Shaddai for tuition, books and uniforms.
Uwimpuhwe Josianne: Josianne dreams of being a recognized nurse after her university studies. She wants to treat sick people, especially children and orphans. If given the opportunity she would like to set up a private clinic for street children to receive free medical care.
Umutesi Jacqueline: Orphaned, Jacqueline was left with her grandmother who was unable to care for her. She found herself on the streets, dreaming of an opportunity to study at the university so she could someday start her own business.
Umutoni Sendrine: Her goal is to study until she obtains her Phd. She wants the opportunity to tell people that she became a street child when her parents were killed. Sendrine’s desire is to be a part of eradicating the system of street children in Rwanda. She plans to write books regarding street children.
Nafuraha Jolie: After graduation, Jolie plans to assist HIV victims. She would like to go back to her village where many people are stricken with HIV/AIDS. She would like to serve her people as a Medical Doctor.
Ishimwe Esther: Esther would like to study at the university to widen her knowledge before starting her future dream of becoming a good mother that educates her children. She would like to become a businesswoman cooperating with neighboring countries.
Nyirahabimana Jeanne: After her studies, her dream is to work for public institutions that will fight for the rights of the children. Having been a street child she supports free education for all vulnerable children.
Nyiramatungo Murora: Murora is studying accounting in her secondary school. She is our newest student and she is very grateful to have assistance as no one has been supportive of her until now.
